Wednesday- Begin reading “Letters From Rifka” (Section 1)

Thursday- Finish reading Section 1 and answer questions

Friday- Finish questions and begin Section 2 of the novel

Monday- Answer questions from “Harrison Bergeron” story.

Tuesday- Create Propaganda posters for “Harrison Bergeron”

Wednesday- Continue working on propaganda posters

Thursday- Complete posters and Begin Lit Circles on Dystopian Novel

Monday 10/2- Complete Background knowledge on author and other information on our novel “Freak the Mighty”.

Tuesday 10/3- Review and define vocabulary for Chapters 1-9

Wednesday 10/4-Begin reading “Freak the Mighty” (Early Release at 12:00 for students)

Thursday 10/5- Continue reading “Freak the Mighty” in groups and answering questions. Vocabulary practice.

(WO vs. Winona “Wrangle the Wildcats”. Western wear)

Friday 10/6- Continue reading “Freak the Mighty”. Answer questions on 1st 6 chapters.

Monday 10/2- Complete Background knowledge packet on the Holocaust

Monday 9/18- Plot Choice Board Activities Due-Presentations given. Introduce Traditional Literature (folk tales, fairy tales, myths, legends, tall tales, etc)

Tuesday 9/19- Take notes over traditional literature and point of view

Wednesday 9/20- Identify and analyze different types of traditional literature. Understand the the author’s purpose in these forms of literature

Thursday 9/21- Discuss the importance of setting in a story. If the setting changes, does the story change?

Friday 9/22-Test Review for Plot structure and traditional literature

Thursday 9/21- Choose a Fairy Tale and create your own fractured Fairy Tale changing an assigned piece of the plot. (We will share these with the elementary)

Friday 9/22-Test Review for Plot structure and traditional literature. Work on fractured fairy tale.
