Lesson Plans February 3-7

Monday: Passion Poem from last week is due today. Students will complete questions over “Hatchet” and compare with non-fiction texts. Any work that is not completed will be homework and due Wednesday.

Tuesday: STEM Challenge for “Hatchet”. We will have challenges in class to go with Chapters 1-3 of our novel. STAAR practice passages will be handed out DUE FRIDAY.

Wednesday: We will be discussing imagery and students will create a scene based on chapter 3 of our novel.

Thursday: Vocabulary.com practice over Ch. 5-8. Write vocabulary words and definitions for the next 3 chapters.

Friday: STAAR practice passage due. Complete work from Wednesday. Work on vocabulary.com when finished.

**Don’t forget 20 book reading challenge! 1st 10 books due March 4th.

ADVANCED:

Monday: Passion Poem from last week is due today. Setting Challenge: Students will discuss the setting of a dystopian novel and create their own. STAAR practice passages will be handed out DUE FRIDAY.

Tuesday: Complete setting challenge. Present creations to the class.

Wednesday: Expository Text practice/Compare to novel

Thursday: Quiz over first section of novels. Continue reading.

Friday: Dystopian Art Activity. STAAR practice passage due.
