Regular and Advanced classes

Monday: Complete any work from last week. (TPCASTT notes, Quizizz, Flocabulary, SCOPE poems)

Tuesday: TPCASTT (strategy for poetry) Practice on poems together.

Wednesday: Begin poetry project. Students will research and analyze 2 poems (one they will choose from a list of famous poems, the other will be a lyrical poem of their choice)

Thursday: Work on poetry project

Friday: Use FlipGrid to share poetry

Lesson Plans Sept. 30-Oct. 4

Monday: Complete Questions from Friday. Figurative Language Mini-Lesson: Onomatopoeia

Tuesday: Figurative Language Mini-Lesson: Personification. Vocabulary Quiz over Chapters 1-6 for those that did not make about an 80 last week. This test will be on paper instead of Vocabulary.com. Please Study! Introduce new vocabulary for next few chapters. Read Chapter 7

Wednesday: Figurative Language Mini-Lesson: Irony. Study Sync Practice with Figurative Language. Vocabulary Practice.

Thursday: Tone and Mood Lesson. Flocabulary Practice.

Friday: Tone and Mood Activity. Read Chapter 8

 

ADVANCED:

Monday: Complete One Pagers. Figurative Language Mini-Lesson: Onomatopoeia

Tuesday: Figurative Language Mini-Lesson: Personification. Introduce Vocabulary for Novel. Begin packet over background knowledge for novel.

Wednesday:Figurative Language Mini-Lesson: Irony. Study Sync Practice with Figurative Language.

Thursday: Figurative Language Mini-Lesson: Pun. Tone and Mood Lesson. Flocabulary Practice.

Friday: Figurative Language Mini-Lesson: Allusion. Tone and Mood Activity. Finish working on Background knowledge packet

Monday: Introduce “Freak The Mighty”. Bias activity

Tuesday: “FTM” vocabulary practice. King Arthur introduction to create background knowledge for novel.

Wednesday: Continue King Arthur study.

Thursday: vocabulary practice. Read chapters 1 and 2 of “Freak the Mighty”.

Friday: Take notes on Character Traits. Read Chapter 3

ADVANCED:

Monday: Mini-Lesson over Irony. Read “The Most Dangerous Game”

Tuesday: Answer Questions over “The Most Dangerous Game”

Wednesday: “The Most Dangerous Game” CSI activity

Thursday: Read “The Terrible Things” Answer questions.

Friday: Holocaust Webquest
