Reading Challenge

We have been discussing reading requirements for the year. I am challenging students to read lots of different genres this year. They will be required to read 2 novels each 9 weeks. They will also need to complete a total of 4 projects to go along with those books. They can spread those projects out however they would like.

Please read the “Year Long Reading Challenge” tab for all the details!

I already have several students who have finished their first book and most have at least started!

So proud of these kiddos for getting a jump on their assignments and not waiting until the last minute! Keep up the great work!

Welcome to 7th Grade!

Welcome to 7th Grade! I hope everyone is excited for a new year, I know I am! We’re going to make memories, have fun, and learn new things together!

My goal is not only to help foster a love of reading, but also to create an environment that fosters communication, collaboration and critical thinking. I hope students enjoy coming to my class, but it’s not going to be easy! I believe ALL students can learn if they put forth the effort. I want to push everyone to their next level (whatever level that may be for each student).

I can’t wait to get to know everyone. Please email me if you ever have any questions or concerns and we can work it out together. Make sure you subscribe to my blog to receive all communication.

I look forward to a great year and working with all these Roughnecks!
