  • Students will begin figurative language practice

TUESDAY:

  • Students will complete Flocabulary from last week
  • Complete figurative language practice.

WEDNESDAY:

  • SSR time

THURSDAY:

  • Background information on Edgar Allen Poe
  • Begin reading “Tell-Tale Heart” play and poem

FRIDAY:

  • Finish reading “Tell-Tale Heart” and answer questions

Tuesday:

  • Discuss What is Poetry?

Wednesday: Begin Stations over Poetry/Figurative Language- Students will do 2 stations each day

  • Figurative Language Definitions and Examples in Journal
  • IXL “Read Poetry”
  • Glue poetry types and terms in journal
  • Flocabulary -What is Poetry?
  • Scope article analyzing the poem “Gratitude”
  • SSR time-either choose library book or a poetry book to read

Thursday: Continue Stations

Friday: Continue Stations. Anything not finished will be homework and due Monday

Monday:

  • Students will take their 9 weeks test. It will cover all the things we’ve been working on this 9 weeks.

Tuesday:

  • Make-up work and test corrections
  • There are lots of students who have things missing or assignments that need to be redone. We will use this day to get all of that finished up. Students will also have the chance to make corrections to their 9 weeks test.

Wednesday:

  • Gallery Walk and discussion of Character posters.

Thursday:

  • Library Day

Friday:

  • Preview of our next genre: Poetry
