Article of the Week

Beginning November 29th students will be given an article of the week to complete. The assignment is due the following Wednesday. Each article will be non-fiction and they are expected to highlight, underline, circle, take notes, etc as they read. If there are words that are not understood, look them up.

There will be around 5 short answer questions for them to answer as well as a summary and 2-3 questions that must be answered using the RACE format.

Parents are welcome to help students understand the article or explain certain aspects, but please don’t answer the questions for them.

Expository text is sometimes hard for students to understand, so this is a great way for them to practice and be exposed to different articles.

Late work will not be accepted and it will be a grade (hopefully a good one) each week.

The assignment is in Google Classroom so they have access to it at all times and can’t lose it.
